There was once a Charcoal-burner who lived and worked by himself. A Fuller, however, happened to come and settle in the same neighborhood; and the Charcoal-burner, having made his acquaintance and ? he was an agreeable sort of fellow, asked him if he would come and share his house.
"We shall get to know one another better that way," he said, "and, beside, our household expenses will be diminished."
The Fuller thanked him, but replied, "I couldn' t think of it, sir: why, everything I take such pains to whiten would be blackened in no time by your charcoal."

05 燒炭工和漂洗工
從前，有一個自力更生的燒炭工人獨(dú)自在家工作。碰巧，一個漂洗工搬至隔壁，與他成了鄰居。結(jié)識漂洗工后，燒炭工人經(jīng)過了解發(fā)現(xiàn)，這個鄰居將是一個很好的合作伙伴，就問漂洗工愿不愿意搬到他的鋪?zhàn)永镆黄鸸ぷ鳌?/p>

Many countries of the world have children's day. In 1925, the International Conference on child welfare held in Switzerland Geneva, international children's Association's initiative to create a happy children's day, the United States, Britain, Japan and other countries to respond positively, has established its own national children's day, Britain in July 14th of each year for the children's day, the United States set May 1st as the children's day. Some people are often misunderstood as only socialist countries will be in June 1st as the children's day, in fact, some organizations in the United States have begun to consider the children's day in June 1st.

兒童節(jié)
世界上的許多國家就有兒童節(jié)。1925年，在瑞士日內(nèi)瓦召開的關(guān)于兒童福利的國際會議上，國際兒童幸福促進(jìn)會倡議建立兒童紀(jì)念日，英國、美國、日本等國積極響應(yīng)，先后建立了自己國家的兒童節(jié)，英國規(guī)定每年的7月14日為兒童節(jié)，美國規(guī)定5月1日為兒童節(jié)。日本的兒童節(jié)很特殊，分男女兒童節(jié)，男兒童節(jié)5月5日、女兒童節(jié)3月3日。我國在1931年也曾經(jīng)規(guī)定4月4日為中國兒童節(jié)。
1949年國際民主婦女聯(lián)合會在莫斯科舉行會議，會中通過了保障全世界兒童權(quán)利，反對虐殺兒童和毒害兒童的決議，為紀(jì)念1942年6月被納粹德國屠殺的捷克利迪策村全體嬰兒，決定6月1日為國際兒童節(jié)。
自從1949年確立6月1日為國際兒童節(jié)以后，世界各國紛紛廢除原來的兒童節(jié)，而統(tǒng)一為“六一國際兒童節(jié)”。我國中央政府1949年12月宣布：以“六一國際兒童節(jié)”代替原來的“四四兒童節(jié)”，并規(guī)定少年兒童放假一天或七天。
世界上許多國家都將6月1日定為兒童的節(jié)日，尤其是在社會主義國家。在歐美國家，兒童節(jié)的日期各不相同，而且往往很少舉行社會公眾性的慶祝活動.往往有人誤解為只有社會主義國家才將6月1日定為兒童節(jié)，事實(shí)上，美國的一些組織也開始考慮將兒童節(jié)定在6月1日。
