Another boring afternoon in my hotel.?
Reading some authentic English might be a good way to get some fun.?
Let's read Tuesdays with Morrie together and find some useful and beautiful expressions.
He was making sure I absorbed this point, without embarrassing me by asking.
“most of us all walk around as if we’re sleepwalking. We really don’t experience the world fully, because we’re half-asleep, doing things we automatically think we have to do.”
experience the world fully
eg: Traveling helps us to experience the world fully.
You strip away all that stuff and you focus on the essentials.
eg: Strip away all the disguises .
The slightest human contact was immediate joy.
I forced a small grin.
Force a grin, force a smile.
I tried to see time and seasons, my life passing in slow motion
平時(shí)我們很少會(huì)用see和time, season搭配,學(xué)習(xí)!
his skinny legs under a blanket.

The disease owns him.
The disease owns him!
You can clip these onto a collar or lapel.
Morrie seemed to enjoy this because it brought me close to him, in hugging range, and his need for physical affection was stronger than ever.

When I leaned in, I heard his wheezing breath and his weak coughing, and he smacked his lips softly before he swallowed.
He nodded to photos on his bookshelves,
Love is so supremely important.
Supremely important,

Without love, we are birds with broken wings.
我們可以學(xué)習(xí) without dreams, we are birds with broken wings.
He shot me a look. “Not work,” he added.
看了我 一眼,shot me a look.
I told Morrie about my generation’s dilemma with having children, how we often saw them as tying us down, making us into these “parent” things that we did not want to be. I admitted to some of these emotions myself.
Tie sb down限制某人?
eg:he doesn’t want a family because he doesn’t want to be tied down.
would the emptiness be unbearable?
